Maintenance Requirements For Protective Film
Dec 06, 2025
When dust is found on the surface of the protective film, never wash it with water, as this will affect its adhesion. Simply wipe it with a dry paper towel. Generally, oil stains are the biggest enemy of protective films. Once oil stains accumulate, the protective film will not only lose its material properties but also fail to protect the item. Therefore, oil contamination must be strictly avoided.
Second: After a period of use, the protective film performs well in the middle, but the ends curl up. The main reason for this phenomenon is that the protective film is stretched excessively during the application process to the protected material. After application, exposure to high temperatures causes unnecessary shrinkage. Therefore, during the production of protective films, attention should be paid to the impact of environmental temperature differences on product use, and unnecessary surface stretching should be avoided during the application process.
Third: If the protective film is not firmly adhered to the protected product and falls off during transportation and use, the most likely cause is that the adhesive strength of the pressure-sensitive adhesive used in the production of the protective film is insufficient. Another possibility is that the pressure of the laminating machine used by the user during film application is insufficient, or the surface of the profile is not properly cleaned, leaving dust or paint residue that affects the adhesion of the pressure-sensitive adhesive. If this occurs, the cause should be addressed accordingly: change the pressure-sensitive adhesive, increase the film application pressure, or ensure that the surface of the profile is effectively cleaned before applying the film to prevent this from happening again.
